*Jana Foundation for Family Development on an Official Visit to the Local Authority in Lahj Governorate*

*In a step to enhance cooperation and partnership between civil society organizations and the local authority in Lahj Governorate, *Jana Foundation for Family Development* from *Aden* conducted an official visit to the local authority in Lahj Governorate on the morning of Sunday, January 5, 2025, to discuss the humanitarian and development needs of the governorate. The foundation was represented by *Mr. Abdu Ali Mansoub*, "Executive Director," *Eng. Arslan Anis Taha*, "Project Officer," *Mr. Akram Shahadat*, "Grants and Partnerships Specialist," *Mr. Abdulbasset bin Salman*, "Media Specialist," and *Mr. Yusuf Abdullah*, "Monitoring and Evaluation."

Representing the local authority were:
- *Mr. Awad bin Awad Al-Sulahi*, "Deputy Governor, Secretary-General of the Local Council of Lahj"
- *Mr. Saleh Al-Bukari*, "First Deputy Governor of Lahj"
- *Dr. Ahmed Ibrahim*, "Deputy Governor of Lahj"
- *Mr. Omar Al-Samti*, "Advisor to the Governor of Lahj for International and Local Organizations Affairs - Director of the Executive Unit for Displaced Persons, Lahj Governorate"
- *Mr. Saeb Shukri*, "Director of Social Affairs, Lahj"

*Mr. Awad Al-Sulahi* welcomed the *Jana Foundation* delegation and emphasized the importance of continuous cooperation between the local authority and civil society organizations. He pointed out that the authority welcomes mutual coordination efforts to ensure the success of humanitarian interventions aimed at meeting community needs and enhancing the humanitarian response. He also praised the role of *Jana Foundation* and its commitment to providing services in the governorate.

For his part, *Mr. Abdu Ali Mansoub* stressed the importance of partnership with the local authority as a correct and proactive step toward the successful implementation of interventions and projects based on field studies and surveys, ensuring that the most in-need areas and various villages are targeted. He commended the local authority’s role in fostering joint cooperation and expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation for the efforts made by the local authority in serving the community and overcoming obstacles in humanitarian work.

The attendees were also introduced to the key development projects implemented by *Jana Foundation* in Lahj Governorate. The discussion then focused on the essential humanitarian needs of the governorate in various sectors, including water, education, livelihoods, and health. The challenges facing the most vulnerable groups, including displaced persons, were discussed, with possible solutions and interventions proposed to contribute to improving their living conditions.
