Jana Foundation for Family Development discusses with the Director of Animal Wealth the achievements of the Livestock Integration Project in Women's Empowerment and Food Security

As part of strengthening joint cooperation with official entities, Jana Foundation for Family Development held a coordination meeting with Dr. Awsan Mohammed Saleh Hassan, Director of Animal Wealth at the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Fisheries, to discuss the progress and achievements of the project *“Integrating Livestock in Women’s Empowerment and Achieving Food Security and Livelihoods”*, implemented in Al-Musa’abeen Village, Dar Saad District – Aden Governorate.
During the meeting, the foundation’s team reviewed the key results of the project, which targeted *50 women beneficiaries*, distributing *400 first-grade laying hens* (8 hens per beneficiary). The project also included intensive training programs on poultry care, egg production, and healthy feeding practices, delivered by ministry-certified veterinary consultants.
Dr. Awsan expressed his support for the foundation’s efforts, praising its role in improving rural livelihoods and economically empowering women. He also commended the project’s technical and organizational aspects, especially its adherence to health standards and veterinary supervision. For its part, the foundation affirmed its commitment to continuing its partnership with the ministry through future development projects aimed at enhancing food security and sustaining livelihoods for the most vulnerable groups.
